In this study we see Jesus having an encounter with a pagan woman. We also have a verse in this passage that has caused some controversy. I am talking about verse 27.
In the last study we saw Jesus rejecting the traditions of men. And in this study, we see this issue continuing in the first part of the passage but with a different type of tradition. Then in the second part of the passage we see Jesus make an important pronouncement about defilement.
In this study we come back to an ongoing issue for Jesus; His conflict with the religious leaders. In this study we are going to learn something that is very important for us as Christians.
When Jesus walked on the water it had enormous significance for the 12 disciples and for us today.
In this study we return to the missionary outreach that Jesus sent the disciples on earlier in the chapter. But as soon as they get back, the disciples and Jesus are faced with a huge crowd chasing after them.
In the last study we began looking at Mark's text about the beheading of John the Baptist. On that occasion we looked at verses 14 to 18 of chapter 6. In the verses that we are looking at today, we will see what led to John being beheaded.
